He holds a master’s degree in development economics from the University of Johannesburg and is currently pursuing a PhD in health economics at the same institution. He is passionate about the potential of evidence-informed decision-making to leverage a suite of evidence synthesis methodologies and is experienced in responding to policy evidence needs. He specialises in conducting and supporting evidence syntheses, as well as designing institutional knowledge structures to enhance the use of evidence by decision-makers.
He has contributed over 30 syntheses in eight years, including systematic reviews, evidence maps, rapid reviews, and other evidence support systems tailored for national and international stakeholders, leading 19 multidisciplinary projects. He has collaborated with national and international organisations to produce evidence-synthesis products that support evidence-informed decision-making across various sectors, including agriculture, education, climate, environment and land reform, human settlements, migration, economic empowerment, and age-friendly environments.
In 2024, he joined the Methodological Advisory Group (MAG), which supports the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control’s (ECDC) Evidence-based Public Health Methods project. This initiative aims to develop hands-on methodological guidance for evidence synthesis and evidence-based public health advice, focusing on infectious disease epidemiology, prevention, and control.
